Infographics are good for business

Why are infographics so effective?

If you want to spread your brand message effectively and creatively and engage with your target audience, infographics are the answer.  Visuals are an effective format for communication that will make your brand memorable.

With our hectic schedules and a society that is time poor, now more than ever people have short attention spans.  With such a short time to grab the attention of your visitors, engage them and persuade them to read more, infographics are your best option.  Infographics are also 3 x more likely to be share or liked (source).

We are overloaded every day with information which means that to get your message across you need much more than words.  Visual content really does works because our brains process visuals 60,000 times faster than text.  Infographics are a great way to convey complex information in a simple and concise way.

Read on for some more juicy nuggets in the following infographic.

Infographics really work.

A smarter better way to tell stories

As the saying goes “a picture is worth a thousand words”, since infographics have both ‘pictures’ and ‘words’, it represents the best of both worlds.  Infographics can tackle complex data and information, presenting them in a visually pleasing way that is more digestible and engaging for the reader.

They also create a visual cue which helps increase the memorability of your brand and your story.

Humans are visual creatures

90% of the information transmitted to the brain is visual, and it’s processed 60,000 x faster by the brain than text. That’s why we’d rather look at an infographic than read lengthy text.   On average, people only see 20% of the text on a web page during a visit. An infographic allows readers to scan or skim the content quickly, then decide if they want to find out more.  If you’ve got it right they will want to read more; you’ve engaged them and made your brand more memorable.

Infographics help build brand awareness

Infographics should include the name of the company that created it, along with a logo, brand colour scheme and other useful business information.

Thanks to the way the human brain is wired, brands can get an incredible level of traction with their target audiences simply by adopting infographics as a marketing tool.
